Update of 10 March 2023
Work carried out this week was:-
On the 4th and 5th floors, the drylining, including sound insulation and the resilient bars have continued to be fitted.
M&E to the new apartments continuing. Bathrooms now with most first fix plumbing. Electrical first fix wiring and AV wiring being run.
Tiling started in bathrooms.
Flat roof areas now almost completed.
The stone fitting to the front continued with the stone panels being fitted. This week the darker stone starting being fitted.
The Knight Frank rear extension continued.
Air conditioning being fitted in the new Flats with the cassettes fitted above the ceilings in places.
Plastered more of the walls and ceilings in the new Flats.
Applied some of the exterior STO insulation to the rear walls. This is a non-flammable ‘Rockwool’ type material.
Stainless steel roof continuing. This now includes the rear curved part.
PV panels fitted to the main roof.
Work in the common parts continued with the front entrance being prepared for the stone to the walls and floor. Upper floors had battens fitted to ceilings and service cupboards prepared for the new fire doors.
New dry riser pipework fitted.
Work to be carried out next week;
The stone to the front elevation will continue to be fitted to the framing this coming week. The stone is fixed on metal rails which are bolted to the concrete panels. Noise will continue but it is more ‘drilling’ type noise and not hammering with heavy machines type noise. This work is crucial to getting the scaffold down. Between the stone panels is fire barrier called ‘siderise’.
Unfortunately some of the recently fitted new windows are not where they should be to ensure a perfect junction with the stone panels. This will mean that some windows will need to be taken out and moved forward by around 20/30mm and the inside of the Flats made good again. We apologise sincerely for this because we know that you have had enough inconvenience but simply Mayer got the window fixing locations wrong. Mayer will be in contact with the affected owners/occupiers to arrange a convenient date to carry out the work. Fortunately the work to undo a window and move it out and refix is a quick exercise and each will take around half a day at most.
Insulation to the rear walls will continue to be fitted. Rendering to start, subject to temperature.
Internal work within the new Flats will increase and to include further plastering and fitting of bathrooms. Walls will be closed and plumbing and electrics will advance. Tiling is due to continue.
Flat roof finishes to continue.
Air conditioning and ventilation works will continue in the new Flats.
Stainless steel roof to the main building will continue. This is close to being completed.
Work will continue in the common parts with cabling, new pipework and plasterboard being fitted.
Soen final dry riser work is to be carried out on Monday and it will then be comple. The dry riser is so that in the event of a fire in the building the fire brigade can connect a hosepipe to the base of the dry riser pipework and reach all parts of the building internally.
Currently, the start date for scaffold coming down is still around the end of March. It will take around 4 weeks so we can expect all scaffold to be gone by the end of April.

Stainless steel roofing to the rear now almost completed.

Amazing detail at the rear valley.

Photovoltaic panels fitted to the main roof. They will collect heat from the sun and convert to elecricity.

Diffferent stone panels now being fitted. it looks fantastic.

Further view of the front stone.

STO being fitted to the rear. We are watching temperature as the ‘wet’ render can only be used in certain temperatures.

Tiling started in some bathrooms. Mayer are trying to also push on with work not affected by adverse weather.
