Olaf Court Latest News Update of 10 September 2021

Work carried out this week was:-

Scaffold erection started to the rear elevation.

More ‘soft’ demolition around the main roof.

Preparation for an intensification of works with a health and safety notice board fitted in the common area, bin stores being built in the rear yard and a small storage office made in the rear yard.

Now that scaffolding has started and scanning of the roof has taken place Mayer will update the build programme and we will load on to this website.

We are aware of an issue onĀ  Monday with the bin bags being brought out by RBKC and left at the front of the building but then the second RBKC team would not collect because of the scaffold lorry. Mayer will liaise with RBKC over rubbish collection so that this does not happen again.

Next week the scaffold will continue and scaffolders expect to complete the rear section ahead of programme. Bin stores will be completed and work on the welfare cabins will continue.

Scaffold started to the rear elevation. It is a tricky building to scaffold and involves some detailed scaffold engineering.

Scaffold to the rear advancing.

Scaffold to the rear now on the second lift.

Cabins being built today. These will be for residents to store the rubbish bags and to help keep the rear yard clean and tidy.

The building is now a ‘building site’ so a site health and safety/ notice board has been constructed in the main hallway. There will be a second notice board on the top floor adjacent to the door to the roof. The ground floor area will be used to provide ongoing information to occupiers, as well as the weekly update on this website.
