Update of 27 January 2023
Work carried out this week was:-
On the 4th and 5th floors, the drylining, including sound insulation and the resilient bars have continued to be fitted.
M&E to the new apartments continuing. Bathrooms now with most first fix plumbing. Electrical first fix wiring and AV wiring being run.
Flat roof areas started having the first layer of waterporoofing fitted.
The stone fitting to the front continued with more setting out and a delivery of pallets of the natural stone.
Windows the the new 4th floor started being fitted and will continue next week.
The Knight Frank rear extension started having the enclosure walls built.
Work to be carried out next week;
The stone to the front elevation will start to be fitted this coming week. The stone is fixed on metal rails which are bolted to the concrete panels. There will be some noise but it is more ‘drilling’ type noise and not hammering with heavy machines type noise. This work is crucial to getting the scaffold down but has been delayed by a further week.
Preparation work will continue with flues and overflow pipes extended to allow the insulation to be fitted to the rear.
Internal work within the new Flats will increase and to include some plastering and fitting of bathrooms. Walls will be closed and plumbing and electrics will advance.
Flat roof finishes to continue.
Windows the the new 4th floor will continue to be fitted and the glass fitted.
Air conditioning and ventilation works will start in the new Flats.
Mayer are looking at the programme again but for now they are still working to Easter for completion. The stone fitting to the front is driving the programme to a great extent because until that is completed the scaffold cannot come down. There is work to do once the scaffold comes down but having the scaffold down will be a big relief to all involved. Stone is starting to be fitted to the walls next Monday so the fitters will know very quickly whether there are likely to be delays. Currently, the start date for scaffold coming down is around the end of March.

Delivery of many pallets of the natural stone for the front elevation. The stone is Jura and Moleanos from Germany and Portugal.
