Update of 30 September 2022
Work on site this week was:-
On the 4th floor, the drylining, including sound insulation and the resilient bars have continued to be fitted. Rooms have been built. Fire separation work was carried out to the ceiling between floors.
M&E to the new apartments continuing.
The new main roof timber framing is completed and firings and plywood decking was fitted this week. Only a small amount to complete.
Final parts of the window installation making good works being carried out.
Further work carried out to the rear of the Knight Frank unit and the interior walls demolished.
Stone repairs to the front elevation continued.
Bricklayers started rebuilding the Lift shaft walls.
Work to be carried out next week;
Roof work will continue. This to include finishing the plywood decking in readiness for the stainless steel finish.
Further making good works around the new fitted windows.
On the 4th floor, the drylining, including sound insulation and the resilient bars will continue to be fitted.
5th floor walls to start being built.
Plumbing and electrics to continue.
Further preparation on the front elevation in readiness for the stone panelling. This to include continuing to repair the front concrete panels prior to the stone being fitted. This is to protect the reinforcing bars and to give a flat surface to fix the stainless steel rails to. A special concrete repair mortar is being used.
Knight Frank rear courtyard work will be prepared. There is to be a new rear extension to the Knight Frank unit and this is due to start next week. Metal escape staircase to be removed.
Further work will be carried out in the Lift shaft ready to extend. Apologies but there will be some noise involved because some of the concrete floor has to be cut away. This is to enable the largest Lift car possible using most of the existing shaft. Next week will see the block walls continuing to be built.
The new metal outer walls to the front of the two new Flats will start to be built.
A new building programme has been issued by Mayer and we are checking it and will load on here once agreed. There is some slippage and instead of completion at the end of January 2023 the contract work is now programmed to be completed at the end of March 2023. Not ideal but it is very difficult work on a very restricted site.

Plywood decking being fitted to the main roof.

Like everything on this job, a complicated roof structure.

Fitting the plywood to the rear curved roof.

Front roof plywood fitted and ready for the insulation and stainless steel.

Further view of the front roof. This time looking south.

Bricklayer about to start rebuilding some of the Lift shaft walls.

Pipework and first fix cables fitted and walls being built.

Plywood decking to the main roof now pretty much completed.

Men back to continue the making good of the cut front concrete panels in readiness for fitting the natural stone.
